Herbal Apprenticeship at Sawmill Herb Farm, 2021

Check back soon for 2021 dates!

Deepen relationship to yourself & the living earth through plant medicine

The Sacred Warrior Apprenticeship at Sawmill Herb Farm is an experiential dive to empower your health and your relationship with nature. You’ll experience the plants from the ground to medicine and develop personalized practices to support your self-care. Learn to harvest, wild-craft, make tinctures, vinegar, oils, salves, teas & infusions. Come away with an experiential foundation in holistic herbalism and renewed relationships with yourself and the natural world.

This course is for absolute beginners to intermediate level herbalists. The course is entirely outdoors and we have the use of a covered gazebo if it’s raining. Spaces will be limited in 2021 due to Covid to provide for effective social distancing. Luckily, there is a lot of outdoor space where we can be together while safely working with the plants.

The classes are led by Herbalist & Sacred Warrior Founder, Vanessa Chakour. Her approach to plant medicine engages intuition and reminds you how to listen to, and learn from the language of nature. We’ll share an herbal infusion (medicinal tea) and meditation each class as we explore the ways plants help us to heal through the mind, body, and spirit.

You’ll receive fresh herb bundles and harvest some of your own during classes. All are grown using sustainable, organic practices. Some will be wild-harvested in the fields, forests, hills, and valleys of Western MA. Seasonal selections include echinacea root, burdock root, nettles, mullein, red clover, elderberry, cleavers, yarrow, st. john’s wort and more.
