PLANT MEDICINE WALKS
PROSPECT PARK, BROOKLYN NY
Magic and medicine exist right here in the concrete jungle of NYC. Many plants we consider weeds are actually powerful healers with rich history. You’re invited to join Sacred Warrior founder & herbalist, Vanessa Chakour on a series of walks through Prospect Park, Brooklyn. We’ll explore the many ways to work with these wild healers as medicine for the mind, body, and spirit. As we move through the flow of each season, we’ll train our attention to detail and deepen our intimacy with the natural world.
WALKS WILL EXPLORE:
• Plant Meditation • Plant Identification • Ethical Wildcrafting
• Medicine Making • Healing Practice
DATES, TIMES & CONTRIBUTION:
8 seasonal walks
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 19th, 2-4pm
We meet near the Grand Army Plaza entrance of Prospect Park. Exact location given upon registration.
Sia Mensah is an herbal apprentice at Sacred Warrior. She has had a lifelong love affair with wild plants as food and medicine. She enjoys reading, writing, and spending lots of time outdoors. She understands “rewilding” as the process of tapping into ancestral wisdom about living harmoniously with nature, and sees herbalism as an essential part of that process.
Walks are free for students enrolled in Herbalism School
